EPISODE 51 RECAP:
A eunuch tells Li Min De that for the following days, he is only allowed to stay in his quarters. Effectively, he is being put under house arrest, but under the guise of protecting him, the Rou prince, from the dangers of the palace.
Tuo Ba Yu’s servant reports to him that LMD is under house arrest, effectively limiting the reach of Tuo Ba Jun as well.
The Princess meets LMD, and is annoyed that she doesn’t know a thing. She insists to be told everything.
Jun Tao and Cheng De are trying to stalk TBY’s people, but have to abort their plans when guards come around with Jun Tao’s picture, asking if anyone has seen her. She cannot be caught, because the Emperor thinks that she is dead.
LMD tells the Princess what has happened, and she is taken aback that TBY had killed her older brother, the Tai Zi. LMD tells her that he is being put under house arrest, and she promises to take care of Wei Young.
Chang Le grows frustrated being trapped at home, and Hong Luo advises her that her only way out is to join TBY. Hong Luo brings down the guards, and goes out to contact TBY.
It’s almost the day the investigation is due, and they haven’t had any leads yet. The Princess and LMD are worried as they haven’t heard anything from Wei Young and co as well.
TBY rages that he will not allow the reinvestigation to proceed, and tells his servant that he must control the chief investigator of the proceedings.
Hong Luo arrives at TBY’s place, and calls TBY her master. She wants to seek revenge for CYN.
Wei Young and Tuo Ba Jun revisit the manor, but are disappointed to find the place already searched by TBY. TBJ tells WY that if they cannot find any clues, he would personally send her away – but WY persists that she will not leave him.
Wei Young manages to find a box that is missing the piece that they have. They put in the missing piece, and a special catch opens. They find the record book and scroll recording the crimes of TBY, stating that the Tai Zi was framed by TBY.
TBJ and WY rush into the palace to see the Emperor in the night. In tears, TBJ passes the records and the scroll to the Emperor proving the Tai Zi’s innocence, and recording the crimes of TBY.
The Emperor is infuriated, and is sorry towards the Tai Zi. TBJ pleads for justice to be done, but Wei Young stops the Emperor from killing TBY. If he orders TBY to death, then it might instead push TBY to revolt instead.
The Emperor orders TBJ to bring TBY into the palace for questioning. The Emperor simmers in anger.
Wei Young and TBJ resolve to bring justice to the Tai Zi and get TBY. They spot the head eunuch passing by, and question where he is going so late at night. The eunuch says that he is simply going to the kitchens to get some soups for the Emperor to drink to sleep better. TBJ offers to do that for him instead, and once the Eunuch leaves, TBJ orders a soldier to follow the eunuch.
TBJ says that it is not that he doesn’t trust the eunuch, but just wants to take precautionary measures.
TBJ gathers the generals and briefs them on catching TBY once the day awakens.
The Emperor reads the record books, and tells Wei Young that he is regretful that his paranoia caused the death of the Tai Zi. He laments that he is lousy Emperor, but Wei Young sings his praises to comfort him.
The Emperor asks WY what her relationship is with TBY, and discerns that it was TBY’s one-sided love towards WY. He is regretful that he almost caused WY’s death as well. WY cares for the Emperor, and helps him to sleep. He leaves the book under his pillow.
TBY is seems to be sleeping soundly, as TBJ orders the ambush of TBY.
The Eunuch goes to visit the Emperor, clearly aware that he is being follower. He tries to snatch the book from under the pillow, and the Emperor grabs the Eunuch’s hand.
TBY is summoned to the palace, and is arrested.
WY visits the Emperor, and calls him to be awake – but her expression turns into one of shock.
At TBJ’s side, they are suddenly attacked by arrows, and TBY is taken down. TBJ is surrounded by guards.
Then the real TBY strolls in, arresting TBJ instead. TBJ is shocked, and turns out that it was Hong Luo that had eavesdropped and released the information to TBY.
TBY sits at the Emperor’s desk, triumphant that he is about to win.
The Emperor has been stabbed, and Wei Young is distraught.
The Eunuch reports to TBY that he had killed the Emperor, and TBY is furious. The Eunuch says that he thought he was doing good for TBY.
In his dying words, the Emperor tells WY that the Eunuch was TBY’s spy, and passes the Emperor’s seal to WY. He tells WY that the seat is to be passed to TBJ, and regrets that he should have trusted TBJ and WY earlier. The Emperor passes on, and WY cries for him.
At that moment, another eunuch reports that TBY is killing his way into the quarters. TBY kills all the servants around, and knocks WY out.
TBY laughs at the Emperor’s dead body, and closes his eyes. TBY seems quite torn that the Emperor is dead, and promises that he will conquer and unite the land. He wants to prove that he is the most outstanding son, and he places the blanket over the Emperor, as if the Emperor is sleeping.
The Princess is feeling uneasy, saying that she feels that something is wrong. LMD assures her that everything would be fine.
Then, a troop of soldiers storm in, and demand the arrest of LMD for assisting TBJ in revolt. LMD and the Princess try to fight, and luckily the Rou guards comes to their assistance and they quickly leave.
Wei Young wakes up in an unfamiliar place, and Chang Le comes to visit her. Chang Le smirks that she is going to be a princess, once the new Emperor ascends the throne. WY realises that CL betrayed TBJ, but CL laughs at the mention of karma.
Chang Le smiles that TBJ is under the authority of TBY now, and she will no longer naively love TBJ. Chang Le says that she is only going to live for herself, and slaps WY when she accuses Chang Le of being a murderer.
TBY enters, and Wei Young slaps him.
